Mr Deeds Where Are You?

The United States is in dire peril and not from the financial shakedown, but from the two Senators vying for what may well be the final Presidency of the country. The problem is that neither man has what is going to be required to stop the world's greatest power from being brought to its knees. And when the mighty are fallen everybody comes to the party and take a swipe and a kick.
Sen. John McCain has selected a running mate who will give him a better chance of winning the Presidential election, and that kind of decision-making can destroy a country purely by its short-term advantage. You may win a pawn or two with such finesse, but it is the kind of strategy that often loses the game. Sen. Barack Obama selected the best possible potential Vice-President, but his overall immaturity, as demonstrated in his past decisions and his future proposals for the country, can only spell total disaster. His youth and inexperience together with his propensity to be easily led are not leadership qualities. America does not need yet another leader of the kind it has suffered for the past decades, it needs an honest man who can cut out the diseases of greed and corruption from both business and politics, and rebuild the country on the ethics that made it the world's greatest. Where are honesty, decency, integrity, and reliability in your country's leaders? This week, I received an e-mail from a man with the kind of spirit your country needs in a leader. He wrote, "Business here sucks, worst year in 10+ years. I had to lay off a couple people a few weeks ago and it was a hard thing to do. Now it looks like I might have to lay off almost everyone or just close up altogether. This has been the lowest point of my life I think. My family is healthy, so in that regard, I can't complain, but the business I've struggled with for 23 years now is crumbling and I don't know what to do...I don't know what to do!" This church-going, family-loving, American sheds tears at having to lay off some of his employees; have you ever met a politician who shed a tear over making decisions that cost people their jobs? Tim Smith, of Westlake, Ohio is the kind of man who is the backbone of your country; there must be millions of men and women just like him in America, people who work hard for family and community! This is the type of person you need as a leader, somebody who cares, and somebody who puts others first. Mr. Deeds, where are you-America needs you now!
