As a resident of Australia and with many Australian subscribers a topic hot on the lips of everyone is the coming federal elections in August 2010. With Kevin Rudd ousted, a man who was surround by highly regarded economic experts, he never listened to them, and we believe that was his downfall. He was seen as one of the most popular Priministers but also one of the shortest serving ones. A man who wore his heart on his sleeve, Kevin won the battle but lost the war, so to speak. Towards the end, things really went pear shaped, and it was obvious Australia needed a change of leadership. Now the good people of Australia will go to the polls in late August to decide. The contenders are Julia Gillard and opposition leader Tony Abbott. Gillard, who is not media shy, bold, decisive and forthright and has the interest of the working class and retirees.
